The differentiator between Public and Private Cloud is that Public Cloud allows sharing of resources provided by a Cloud Services Provider within their data centres. On the other hand, Private Cloud is hosted on-site or as a Cloud Hosting solution delivered by a services provider. Private Cloud provides higher security as they do not share resources with other customers. Large enterprises need to have control over their sensitive data and the Private cloud enables increased data control and adhering to compliance requirements.
