In dedicated server hosting, the services provider partitions a part of their compute resource to be utilized exclusively by a single customer. While this compute resource is dedicated to the customer, it is not owned by the customer. Shared server hosting takes place when multiple clients share the same server resources and hence have the same performance specifications.
