THE IT BUILDING BLOCKS

The economic challenges brought with it one of the major headaches faced by IT, facility or operations managers when taking on the responsibility for their company’s infrastructure - understanding which technology to use for their enterprise needs, given the business constraints and the redefined business landscape. A recent survey conducted by CPI in association with eHDF with 200 IT decision makers and key influencers from the UAE and Saudi Arabia, sought to understand how IT infrastructure spends are expected to move in 2010-2011.

According to the results of the survey, spending on IT infrastructure looks healthy in 2010-2011 with 93% of the respondents confirming that they will resume their investments. Over 50% of these respondents say that they will spend in the next 9-12 months, while 34% say they are looking at spending in the next 6-9 months. 16% are looking at making key IT infrastructure investments in the next 3-6 months.

Information security, data centre transformation, data protection, business continuity and managed services have been identified as the key areas for investment.

What approach do you follow?
