CEO, eHosting DataFort

Dear industry colleagues,

The year that went by marked a number of milestone achievements and successes for eHosting DataFort (eHDF), setting us firmly on the path to achieving our long-term goals. So, in this edition of the newsletter, I would like to share with you some of the highlights of 2010 and provide a glimpse of the road ahead.

On the customer front, we are pleased to be associated with a record number of prestigious new clients across all industries. Emirates Identity Authority, Ministry of Public Works, Gulf Finance Corporation, Jumeirah Group, Societe Generale Bank and JRG International are among the many customers who have partnered with us in 2010.

On the industry front, the number of awards and recognitions that have come our way in 2010 are a testimony of our customer focus. The awards represent an acknowledgment of our relentless efforts to provide customers with world class infrastructure, solutions and service levels. The awards include ‘Best Managed Service Provider’ (Network World Middle East & Computer News Middle East), ‘Best IT Service Provider’ (Arabian Computer News) and ‘Best Colocation Facility in the Middle East’ (Data Centre Strategies 2010).

On the product front, last year eHDF launched special innovative low cost ‘Dedicated Server Packages’ for the SME segment. These new packages enable more organisations to move to an OPEX model without investing upfront capital. Business continuity management (BCM) was also an important focus area for eHDF last year. eHDF launched the Business Continuity Management Institute’s (BCMI) survey for the second time. The survey aims to understand and gauge the maturity levels of BCM in organisations in the Middle East and benchmark them against global standards and best practices. We are also glad that our strategic partnership with “Double-Take” helped provide, comprehensive and much needed, Disaster Recovery solutions to organizations across the region.

The year also witnessed interesting changes in customers’ spending priorities. An eHDF-ITP survey for the Middle East found that at least 56% of organisations intended to increase their IT spending during 2010 with business productivity, infrastructure improvements and cost reduction being their top three strategic IT priorities. We are pleased that we played a critical role in addressing these priorities.

Looking ahead to 2011, we foresee virtualization and cloud computing, especially infrastructure-as-a-service becoming a key growth area in the market. eHDF plans on presenting you with new offerings which will further enhance and streamline your IT and business operations. We will also be launching the next generation Service Level Management Program or SLM 2.0.

Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude and appreciation to our customers, business partners, and dedicated staff, without all of whom the achievements of 2010 would have not been possible. We also pledge to continue delivering the best value in 2011 and beyond and we look forward to our successful partnership.
