Dubai e-Government Wins ‘Network Security Project of the Year’ Award for Technologically Secure Portal Established in Partnership with eHDF
eHosting DataFort (eHDF), the region’s leading managed IT and advisory services provider and a member of TECOM Investments, today announced it has received the ‘Best Managed Service Provider of the Year’ distinction at the inaugural Network World Middle East awards that recognize the region’s outstanding achievers in the technology services industry. eHosting DataFort received the award for demonstrating excellence in product innovation, business value, market leadership, technology strategy and collaboration with end users. In addition, a diverse customer portfolio and achievement in its regional business outreach determined the winning vote for eHDF. The awards also named Dubai e-Government as the ‘Network Security Project of the Year 2010’. The government’s online portal integrates eHDF’s technical expertise to provide a fool-proof system against data theft and external cyber threats. Matar Al Humairi, Director of Infrastructure Management, Dubai e-Government, accepted the award from Tarek Kuzbari, Managing Director of Kaspersky Lab Middle East. “We would like to congratulate Dubai e-Government for their success and look forward to further strengthening our relationship by providing them additional value and improved service delivery capabilities.” Matar Al Humairi, Director of Infrastructure Management, Dubai e-Government, said: “Through encompassing modern day technology, Dubai government understands the need to ultimately enhance people’s quality of life, paving the way for a more open public administration between government and its people, encouraging greater active involvement with government processes while achieving a greater sense of transparency. We are delighted to receive the award and would like to thank the team at eHosting DataFort for their hard work that made this possible.” Nine years since the government online portal was established, the Dubai Government has progressively built an e-government system where almost 1.4 million transactions have been made through ePay service, 208,000 transactions through the online sync service, while 17 websites were hosted on the Dubai e-Government platform in 2009 alone. Dubai eGovernment portal was also recently ranked ninth in the world by the Rutgers University for privacy and security in digital governance. The two awards mark additional milestones for eHosting DataFort, adding to its collection of accolades received over the past few years including two consecutive distinctions for ‘Best Enterprise Service Provider’, and the ‘Best Innovative Use of New Technology’ award for deploying and implementing an Operations Support System (OSS) within its data centres and network operation centres in the region. |
